What a wonderful, hip, charming, beautiful, little town Ljubljana is. Did I mention that there is a castle up on the hill overlooking the center of town? Or that there is a romantic cafe and restaurant lined little river running through it? What about the city’s mascot that is a medieval dragon? This was a quick one night stop over on our trek back from our month long vacation throughout Croatia. What a complete surprise it was to discover this adorable city. We wished that we had carved out more time to wander the streets and to absorb the atmosphere. To absolutely put the delicious cherry on top, we stayed at the fantastic 16th century Historic hotel, Antiq Palace Hotel & Spa. What a gorgeous, elegant, classy, top-notch spot. There are 13 suites and residences filled with Persian rugs, classic period replica antiques, Venetian chandeliers, luxurious bedding, and 500 years of original, distressed frescos on the ceilings. Gazing up at the ceilings alone could inspire my husband to move in.
