For those avid beach combers, there is nothing quite like exploring the beaches of Costa Rica. For those of you who haven’t really ever felt the urge to beach comb, Costa Rica is the kind of place that will seduce you and have you coming back for more. Being a divine shell collector myself, I have yet to find a beach that compares to what I have found while combing the beaches along the Guanacaste Peninsula. Not only does each beach hold their own beautiful, exotic landscapes, but the different variety of shells are fantastic. As well, you never know what the ocean will wash up on shore. This is one of my favorite past times that I share with my son, while we do the beach vacations. Not only is Costa Rica an amazingly romantic adventure for the adults, but all of the beaches that we have visited in Costa Rica are very “kid friendly” in the most exotic ways…i.e. monkeys in the nearby trees( the jungle often meets the ocean), refreshing, giant coconuts waiting to be knocked out of the trees (my husband’s job), little hermit crabs playing along the water’s edge, wonderful ocean to play in, and endless miles of gorgeous beaches to explore and hunt for nature’s treasures. Just remember though, slather on the sunscreen, bring your favorite shell bag, and lots of water because the hours will seem to melt away.
