It’s a big world, right? MAKE A LIST… can be literally or just in your mind. Personally, we keep a dream folder in our filling cabinet of all the incredible places to go to, to stay at, and things to do that we come across. Sometimes it’s from some great travel magazine, and sometimes it’s an incredible photograph we come across. People are another wonderful source for ideas. Where ever you may find inspiration, make a list. The next thing you do is decide where to go to next. We pick places depending on the age of our kids. Meaning, if they are very young, practically new, then we will go for a destination with the least amount of worry for their health. That basically includes all the countries that are not developing countries, which is quite a long list. Just because you have kids now doesn’t mean you have to take that family vacation to Disneyland for the week or stay at the all inclusive “family” resorts. It’s possible to still travel to those fabulous, more intimate, boutique hotels in those cool, hip cities or even on those remote exotic beaches. The only difference is that you gotta do your research before hand. Those days of just showing up and finding your spot are pretty much gone if you want a stress free experience. Trust me, it’s worth the effort, and somehow it all still feels exciting and sexy. We have found that in all of our over sea travels, people, even in the swankiest, sexiest, most romantic hotels, are very welcoming and accommodating with our family. Infact, my kids are often showered with so much warmth and affection, they often don’t want to leave.
